Artice of the week:
Two years ago, my family and I decided we wanted to do something a little different for a family vacation. We had spend many a Thanksgiving holiday traveling with to see other family members, or having many guests and family members at our own home for the holidays. But that year, we wanted a change of pace. A chance to actually relax on this 4 day weekend.
We looked at our options and one of the best that we saw, was a 4 day Cruise that left Port Canaveral, not to far from our Florida home. The cruise left on Thursday, Thanksgiving day, had a scheduled Thanksgiving dinner, turkey and all, as well as many other activities and returned on Sunday.
After discussing this with the family, we all decided it was a great option. We got to enjoy a great Thanksgiving dinner with out having to do any or the preperations or clean up. Plus we got to stay aboard a ship that was like staying at a four star hotel.
We contacted the via there and booked the cruise. As the weeks went by leading up to the trip, all of us were very excited.
Once the day arrived, we drove to Port Canaveral, but could not board the ship until 10:00AM. The cruise did not depart until 4:00 PM, but we wanted to board as quick as possible to start enjoying our trip.
The port facilities our very nice and the Carnival employees were very helpful in getting us setup to board the ship. Once the time came, we were land to the ship loading area, where a friendly Carnival photographer took our family photo. He told us the pictures would be available tomorrow on the ship for purchase.
Once on the ship we went looking for our cabin. We puchased a cabin on the main deck of the ship, it was not one of the expensive cabins, but we figured we would only really be sleeping in the cabin and doing everything else on the ship.
