Vacations that will not break the bank

Everyone needs a break from the day to day grind of work and the obligations of the real world. However, when all you have is a pocket full of change, a vacation may not seem possible. Where can you vacation that is not expensive and will not leave you sleeping with creepies and crawlies? Here are a few options.


One of the best options for a nice, cheap vacation is a trip to the beach, if you are within driving distance. Even if you are a few hours away, you can drive there relatively inexpensively and stay in a hotel for a few days. Staying in a family-centered hotel instead of an executive-type will usually allow you to get a suite with plenty of room without spending too much money. As far as entertainment, you literally have an ocean of possibilities. Simply going to swim and play on the beach is a nice escape. You can also lie in the sand and drift off into your own world.


You can also go camping for an inexpensive vacation. While some will not see the potential in such a trip, others enjoy the great outdoors and would like an opportunity to intake all the beauty nature has to offer. For this vacation, all you would be out monetarily is the gas to get where you are going and food when you are there, unless you want to try the kill and eat method, which may not be an option for many people.


Another option, although possibly less enticing, is to travel to visit friends or family. Again, for the cost of travel expenses, you can potentially have a few days or weeks enjoying the company of family and friends. You may have the option of staying with them, so the cost of a hotel may not be a concern. However, if your family members’ houses have creepies or crawlies, you may want to pass on visiting them!


Remember, for an enjoyable, but inexpensive escape consider things you can do that are free or included within other expenses you will have to pay. For example, simply going out of town and staying in a hotel can be a lot of fun if you utilize all that is included with your room, such as swimming in the hotel pool, enjoying the hot tub, or savoring a continental breakfast. You do not have to spend a ton of money to have a nice getaway.
